Fellow cartoonist:  Please let me thank you for your participation in the exhibition of Canadian cartoons on the Inuit and the north. We launched the project at the 40th anniversary celebration of Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami. ITK also thanks you as you will see on the organization’s web site (www.itk.ca). The event took place on November 1st, 2011 at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa.  Included are the panels of cartoons of the final exhibition and my introduction to the project. I am still hopeful that a trilingual book of all the submitted cartoons will be produced, quite possibly through an academic institution. ITK is also exploring the idea of touring the panels to schools and other institutions throughout the north.  In the coming weeks, please look forward to exciting news about our upcoming cartoon convention in Montreal this coming June.

J'ai encore bon espoir qu'un livre trilingue reprenant toutes les caricatures présentées sera produit, très probablement par le biais d'une institution académique. ITK est également à explorer l'idée de présenter les panneaux dans des écoles et autres institutions à travers le nord.  Dans les semaines à venir, nous vous ferons part de nouvelles excitantes à propos de notre congrès de caricaturistes qui se tiendra à Montréal en juin prochain.
